Range:— Bolivia (SC, TA) to northwestern Argentina.
Ecology:— Uncommon; saxicolous, rarely terrestrial, on rocks, ledges, and in crevices of rock faces, in semihumid forests; 1700–2150 m.
Notes:— Young leaves of this species, A. palmeri , and A. resiliens have ill-developed blade apices lacking the shapes that are characteristic of the respective species, which may lead to difficulties in identification.
