Gigantothrips Zimmermann, 1900: 18 View in CoL .
This genus comprises 19 species of large thrips from the Old World tropics. The species are similar to those of Gynaikothrips View in CoL but both sexes have a fore tarsal tooth, abdominal tergites II–V each bear four or more pairs of wingretaining setae, and the tube is much longer than the head.
