Small vertebrates, such as geckoes, form a minor part of the diet of several species of tree shrew ( Tupaiidae ) ( Lim, 1967; Lekagul & McNeely, 1988; Nowak, 1999; Emmons, 2000), and captive T. palawanensis killed and ate lizards, small birds and mice (Dans, 1993).
