Material examined. CHINA: Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Aketao County, Kalakule Lake, 39°52'N, 76°40'E, 3.320 m a.s.l., 3 males, 19.viii.2002, Hongqu Tang (BDN No. 21495, 21496, 21569).
Emended description. Male (n = 3). Total length 3.80–3.90 mm. Wing length 2.40–2.50 mm. Total length / wing length 1.60. Wing length / length of profemur 2.70–2.80. AR 1.7–2.3. Tentorium 160–165 µm long, 35–38 µm wide. Clypeus with 11–14 setae. Palpomeres length (in µm): 40–50, 50–80, 125–165, 100–105, 173–215. Palpomere 5/3: 1.5–1.7. VR 1.1. Costal extension 15 µm long. R with 5 setae, brachiolum with 2 setae. Squama with 14–18 setae. Dorsocentrals 12–15, prealars 3–4. Scutellum with 8–10 setae. Spur of fore tibia 60–65 µm long; spurs of mid tibia 28–33 µm and 22–25 µm long; of hind tibia 70–80 µm and 20 µm long. Hind tibial comb with 10–12 setae. Width at apex of fore tibia 48–53 µm; of mid tibia 50–53 µm; of hind tibia 53–63 µm. Sensilla chaetica 7–9 on ta1 of hind leg. Anal point 10–15 µm long. Laterosternite IX with 6–7 setae. Transverse sternapodeme 160–170 µm long. Gonocoxite 255–320 µm long. Gonostylus 125–150 µm long; megaseta 13 µm long. HR 2.0–2.1; HV 2.8–3.1.
Remarks. The species was figured and redescribed by Hirvenoja (1973). The emended description above is based on the Chinese specimens.
Distribution. The species has a Holarctic distribution including Palaearctic China and is also taken in the Near East.
