Diagnosis. Panurginus alticolus belongs to the herzi- group of species with T2–T4 shagreened, gonostyli wide, penis valves shortly bulbous apically, S6 with lateral tuft of long hairs and S7 apical bifurcation wide. Remarks. There are two specimens in the ZISP collection, a female and a male, indicated by F. Morawitz as “Typ; both are with a gold paper circle (Morawitz as a rule had marked his types with such circles). Since the original description is done from the female series, we chose a female specimen as the lectotype. Other syntypes (females), bearing F. Morawitz’s original labels [Kazbek; к. Ф. Моравица; alticola Mor. , 8Ƥ.] are denoted as paralectotypes. Two females from the type series from Gudauri [Gudauri; Morawitz’s coll; alticola ] belong to another species, most likely P. sericatus (Warncke) .
