Material examined. 1♂, LepsocAfrica CRG, Staude et al. (2016), M196, Gelechiidae reared on unindet. plant, Casketts farm, South Africa, Limpopo, Hoedspruit , 24˚20’36’’S, 31˚09’07’’E, 20.iii.2013 eclosed (A. & I. Sharp) (gen. slide 138/19, O. Bidzilya) ; 1♀, AM158 South Africa, Gauteng, Krokodilspruit , 25°35’12,5”S, 28°25’42,9”E, 20.ii.2018 em. (A. Sharp) (all HSS) GoogleMaps .
Biology. The larvae were observed feeding on Tephrosia rhodesica (Fabaceae) in early February and early March. Adults emerged 20.ii and 20.iii ( Staude et al. 2016: 67, 68; Staude et al. 2020: 57).
Distribution. South Africa ( Meyrick 1913b: 173), Sri Lanka, India (Meyrick 1913).
