Material examined. 1♀, LepsocAfrica, M107, Gelechiidae , rerared on Philenoptera violaceae , Fabaceae, Casketts farm, South Africa, Limpopo, Hoedspruit, 24˚20’36’’S, 31˚09’07’’E, 13.ii.2013 eclosed (A. & I. Sharp) (gen. slide 147/19, O. Bidzilya). 1♀, LepsocAfrica, M974a, Gelechiidae , reared on Philenoptera violaceae , Fabaceae, Casketts farm, South Africa, Limpopo, Hoedspruit, 24˚20’36’’S, 31˚09’07’’E, 4.i.2015 eclosed (A. & I. Sharp) (all HSS).

Biology. The larvae were recorded on Philenoptera violaceae (Fabaceae) in late December and January. Adults emerged 4.i and 13.ii ( Staude et al. 2016: 64, 68). First host-plant record.

Distribution. South Africa (new record), Zimbabwe ( Meyrick 1921: 84).
