Synapturichthys kleinii (Risso, 1827) View in CoL
A Klein’s sole, Soleidae ( Fig. 9A View Figure 9 ), was observed and photographed on 10 Aug 2019 by J.P. Renoult and T. Menut at Plage des Elmes (42.4878°N, 3.1298°E, Banyuls-sur-Mer, Mediterranean Sea), at 6 m depth. The individual, ca. 20 cm TL, was observed on coarse sand ( Menut et al., 2020). A second individual ( Fig. 9B View Figure 9 ) was observed and photographed on 27 Oct 2019 by S. Le Bris while scuba diving in the Saména cove at Marseille (43.2296°N, 5.3476°E), at 12 m depth. The individual, ca. 20 cm TL, was observed on coarse sand and Posidonia debris ( Le Bris et al., 2019h). This species is uncommonly recorded in French waters.
