Type material. Male holotype ( IBSP 7579 View Materials ) from Barra dos Coqueiros [10.89°S, 37.12°W], Sergipe, Brazil, 14.XII.1996, A.D. Brescovit leg. GoogleMaps

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition, taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. The males resemble those of H. cribrata and H. mesopotamica by the length of the embolus (see Galiano 1976b: figs 42, 47), but differ from those species by the shape of the coil of the tip, larger and more laterally in this species ( Figs 16E‒16F View FIGURE16 ).

Description. Male (holotype). Total length: 3.49. Carapace 1.65 long, 1.08 wide, 0.65 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.84 long. Anterior eye row 0.92 wide and posterior 0.96 wide. Chelicera paturon with one promarginal tooth with four cusps, and one bicuspid retromarginal tooth. Length of femur: I 0.83, II 0.58, III 0.54, IV 0.73; patella + tibia: I 1.08, II 0.71, III 0.65, IV 0.90; metatarsus + tarsus: I 0.67, II 0.58, III 0.65, IV 0.79. Leg formula: 1423. Leg spination: femur I‒II d0-1-1, p0, r0; III d0-1-1, p1di, r0; IV d1-1-1, p0, r0; patella I‒IV 0; tibia I p0, r0, v0-0-1p-1p; II‒IV 0; metatarsus I v2-2; II v0-1p; III‒IV p0, r1di, v0- 1p. Palp ( Figs 16D‒16F View FIGURE16 ): tibia wider than long; RTA hook-shaped, RvTA triangular and grooved; embolus fixed to the tegulum, arising proximally, with a path of 705° (1T+345°) before the distal coil ( Fig. 16D View FIGURE16 ). Color in alcohol: carapace brown with dark striation on the thoracic region, abdomen dorsum with a band of white scales anteriorly placed, extended to the sides as far as the middle of the abdomen ( Figs 16A‒16C View FIGURE16 ). Femur I brown, with the lighter tip, other articles as in C. zoobotanica sp. nov., remaining legs following the thiodinine pattern (e.g. C. trinidad sp. nov.), with darker femora ( Figs 16A‒ 16C View FIGURE16 ).

Distribution. Only known from Barra dos Coqueiros, Brazil.
