Etymology. Named in honor to Carolus Linneus.

Material examined. Holotype male. FRENCH GUIANA. Cayenne: 12 km West of Risquetout, 5–XII– 2002, J. E. Eger, N 04°54.673’ W 52°11.150’, 58 m, MV light ( USNM).

Paratypes: GUYANA. East Berbice-Corentyne: Ψ, Oronoque at New River Heads, 1938, H. Beddington. BM 1938–346 ( BMNH). FRENCH GUIANA. St. Laurent du Maroni: ɗ, Highway ex. N1, 20km SE of St. Laurent, 7–VI–1986, E.G. Riley and D.A. Rider ( DAR). Cayenne: Ψ, Riviere-Camopi, Mont Alikene, II–nov–1969 ( RMNH); ɗ 2Ψ, 14 km East of N2 road to Dégrad Carrize, 6–XII–2002, J. E. Eger, N 04°29.964’ W 052°20.260’, 108 m, MV light (JEE); Ψ, same data (DTC); Ψ, same data ( USNM); Ψ, 12 km West of Risquetout, 5–XII–2002, J. E. Eger, N 04°54.673’ W 52°11.150’, 58 m, MV light (JEE); ɗ, Ψ, same data ( MNHN); ɗ, same data (DTC); ɗ, Ψ, same data ( UFRG); ɗ, Ψ, same data ( AMNH); Ψ, same data but 10–XII–2002 (JEE).

Measurements. Total length: 12.4–15.4; head length: 1.7–1.9; head width: 2.1–2.3; pronotal width: 10.6– 13.0; abdominal width: 5.7–7.1.

Jugae punctured at base and in front of the tylus. Head punctured between ocelli. Rostrum reaching middle third of the mesosternum. Pronotum with large and deep punctures. Humeral angles strongly developed and laterally directed (fig. 33), distal part with large and deep punctures. Ventral surface of pronotum and propleuron densely and uniformly punctured. Pleura with dark stripes. Metasternal process with anterior projection long and conical, slightly curved and longer than wide at base (figs. 22–23). Scutellum with apex not punctured. Membrane of hemelytra light brown.

Male (figs. 18–20). Dorsal rim of pygophore darker than dorsal surface and developed over genital cup, covering genital cup processes (fig. 18). Posterolateral angles truncate and straight (figs. 18, 20). Ventral rim with shallow concavity, lobes small, thick, near midline and surpassing the level of posterolateral angles (figs. 19–20). Genital cup processes almost completely covered by paramere in posterior view and not reaching dorsal rim (fig. 19). Paramere small enclosed by pygophore with both lobes short, truncate and rounded, but posterior lobe lateral curved (figs. 18–19). Proctiger reaching ventral rim, dorsal concavities small (figs. 18, 20).

Female (fig. 21). Posterior margin of gonocoxites 8 dark, slightly convex and inner margin dark. Distal angle of laterotergites 8 strongly developed into projection as long as gonocoxites 9. Gonocoxites 9 almost entirely exposed. Laterotergites 9 with rounded apex, short and not surpassing band uniting laterotergites 8.

Comments. This species can be easily identified by the punctures between ocelli and base of tylus; dorsal rim of pygophore projected posteriorly covering the genital cup processes in dorsal view; posterolateral angles of the pygophore truncate and straight; lobes of ventral rim small; lobes of paramere short; gonocoxites 8 with distal margin slightly convex; distal angle of laterotergites 8 strongly developed; laterotergites 9 short.

Distribution (fig 35). GUYANA: East Berbice-Corentyne; FRENCH GUIANA: Cayenne, St. Laurent du Maroni.
