Revised diagnosis: Premaxilla with upturned, expanded anterior tip; premaxilla edentulous anteriorly; external naris much longer than antorbital fenestra; posterior ramus of jugal downturned (also in Lotosaurus ); infratemporal fenestra greatly reduced; posterior margin of parietal modified to receive paramedian scutes; anterior portion of dentary edentulous; jaw ‘slipper-shaped’ with acute anterior terminus; hypertrophied processes for muscle attachment on humerus (deltopectoral crest), femur (4th trochanter), tibia (intercondylar ridge), fibula (ilio-fibularis trochanter); dorsal osteoderms in rows, each row consisting of two paramedian and two lateral; paramedian osteoderms much wider than long; osteoderms without anterior or posterior lappets.
