Othius chrysurus REITTER 1891 View in CoL ( Figs 1-9 View Figs 1-11 )
M a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Afghanistan: 2 exs., Hindu Kush, Salang mountain range, NE Salang pass, 35°27'N, 68°58'E, 2300-2600 m, small valley, 6.XI.2009, leg. Reuter (cFel, cAss).
The above specimens represent the first record of both the genus and the species from Afghanistan. Previously, O. chrysurus was known from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The external characters and the aedeagus of a male from Afghanistan are illustrated in Figs 1-9 View Figs 1-11 . The figures of the aedeagus in ASSING (1997b) show the lateral internal structures in a somewhat untypical position.
