R e m a r k s. Larvae infest flower heads of Leontodon hispidus (Asteraceae) ( Merz, 1994). Tephritis fallax can be easily recognized from closely related species with similar wing patterns by its black setulose abdominal tergites ( fig. 3 View Fig , e).
