Pseudolycoriella lobosa ( Pettey, 1918) View in CoL
( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A–D; Plate III, Fig. V)
Neosciara lobosa Pettey, 1918 View in CoL [ Pettey (1918): 333, figs 13 a, b and 44].
Selected literature: Mohrig et al. (2013): 226–227, fig. 45 a–d [as Pseudolycoriella View in CoL ].
Comments. The species is characterized by having a basal lobe on the ventral side of the hypopygium, densely covered with macrotrichia. The gonostylus is strongly curved with two long spines and a whiplash hair shorter than spines. It seems to be closely related to the Palaearctic species Pseudolycoriella nodulosa ( Mohrig & Krivosheina, 1985) , but it does not have a hyaline spine in the middle of the gonostylus, instead it has just a patch of short fine bristles.
Distribution. USA (Arizona, California); Canada (British Columbia).
