Prosciara plusiochaeta Hippa & Vilkamaa, 1991 [ Hippa & Vilkamaa (1991): 120, fig. 3 B, D, F and G].

Material: 1 male, 11.vi.–24.vii.1994, Canada, Berland River at Hwy 40, 53.42°N, 118.20°W, pine forest, Malaise trap, leg. E. Fuller ( PWMP) .

Comments. The species is characterized by having 5 apical spines on the gonostylus, a distinct intergonocoxal lobe on the ventral base of the hypopygium and bare posterior wing veins. It is similar to Ph. quadriangulata Mohrig & Krivosheina, 1985 from the Russian Far East but differs by having five instead of four apical spines.

Distribution. Canada (Alberta). New for North America.
