Conocarpus erectus L.
status

Conocarpus procumbens Linnaeus View in CoL , Species Plantarum 1: 177. 1753 View Cited Treatment .

"Habitat in Cuba." RCN: 1390.

Type not designated.

Original material: none traced.

Current name: Conocarpus erectus L. View in CoL ( Combretaceae ).

Note: Bornstein (in Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 5: 457. 1989) stated "Type: Cuba, Ammann Herb. 581 (LE)". If “581” is not taken solely from Linnaeus’ synonymy and there is a corresponding specimen present in LE, the latter should be treated as a neotype (although Linnaeus would not have seen it, there is no original material for the name).
