Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 , 2 View FIGURE 2
Etymology. the species name is after Grzegorz Niedźwiedzki.
Material studied. Holotype: Institute of Paleobiology , Polish Academy of Sciences, no. ZPAL PA.I/305, forewing; Pałęgi locality, Middle Triassic, Olenekian-Anisian Stage.
Paratype: Institute of Paleobiology , Polish Academy of Sciences, no. ZPAL PA.I/306, forewing; Pałęgi locality, Middle Triassic, Olenekian-Anisian Stage .
Differential diagnosis. The new species is most similar to Chauliodites issadensis Aristov, 2009 (Severodvinian Stage of Upper Permian of Isady in Vologda Region of European Russia) in early branching of MA and in simple MP. It differs from the latter in having SC shorter, CuA 1 S-shaped and wing size smaller. C. issadensis has SC reaching the distal wing third, CuA 1 not S-shaped, and wing about 14 mm long ( Aristov 2009a).
Description. Forewing length 8 mm. Anterior margin of forewing convex, costal space near base of RS about 1.5 times as wide as subcostal space. Anterior branches of SC and R simple, not connected by crossveins. SC reaching wing midlength. RS starting in wing basal third, branching past its midlength, at or slightly beyond level of SC apex. RS with two branches, with fore branch angled at junction with one of fore crossveins. M divided into MA and MP well beyond RS base. MA branching near its base, with three branches, MP simple, desclerotized at base. CuA divided into simple CuA 1 and CuA 2 near RS base. CuA 1 S-shaped. Crossveins simple. Wing membrane mostly clear but with dark spot between base of RS and first bifurcation of M, and with transverse dark stripes in distal wing half.
