Distribution. Otostigmus buergeri was reported from Villavicencio, its type locality ( Attems 1903, 1930; Kraepelin 1903; Bücherl 1942, 1974), and from Manaus, state of Amazonas in Brazil ( Schileyko 2002; Chagas-Jr 2012). In Colombia it has been recorded from the Andean , Orinoquia and Amazonian regions.

Altitudinal range. 70 to 550 m.
