Lectotype (Howe in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 39: 201. 1912; Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 350, f. 55. 1994): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.263, lower specimen ( LINN) .

Current name: Roccella tinctoria View in CoL DC. ( Roccellaceae).

Note: Jørgensen & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 350, 380, f. 55. 1994) restricted Howe’s original type choice to one of the specimens on the sheet.
