Dodecabates dodecaporus ( Nordenskiöld, 1904)

Hygrobates dodecaporus Nordenskiöld, 1904: 396 .

Dodecabates dodecaporus (Nordenskiöld) : Viets 1926: 192; Cook 1980: 160; Rosso de Ferradás 2000: 34.

Material examined

Neuquén Province: 3 females, Arroyo Llano Blanco, Laguna Blanca National Park, 11 November 1999.

Chubut Province: 1 female, Río Tecka, 30 km north of Tecka, 21 November 1999. La Pampa Province: 4 females, Río Colorado near Río Colorado, 9 December 1999.

Remarks

According to Cook (1980) the number of acetabula on one genital plate varies from 6 7. In my specimens this number varies between 56. Dodecabates dodecaporus is widespread, and has been found along the Andes from the Jujuy Province in the north to the Neuquén Province in the south. Moreover, Cook (1980) collected the species in the Sierra de la Ventana, Buenos Aires Province, and Rosso de Ferradás (2000) collected it in the Sierra de Córdoba. The new record presented here from Chubut Province extends its range further south.
