Treatment

Smit (2002) confirmed the conclusion of Viets (1978), and lowered the ranking of Flabellifrontipoda to a subgenus of Frontipoda . The subgenus has a Gondwanan distribution, with 13 taxa described from South America ( Cook 1988), six taxa from Australia (Cook 1986) and nine taxa from New Zealand ( Cook 1983).
