Material examined

Neuquén Province: 1 female, Río Chimehuín at Junín de los Andes, 12 November 1999; 1 male, Río Chimehuín west of Junín de los Andes, 13 November 1999.

Chubut Province: 2 females, small stream with pools in river bed of Río Azul, Lago Puelo National Park, 17 November 1999; 1 female, Río Tecka, 30 km north of Tecka, 21 November 1999.

Santa Cruz Province: 8 females, Arroyo Calafate at El Calafate, 23 November 1999; 2 females, Río Bote at crossing with route 40, El Calafate, 25 November 1999.

Remarks

A widespread species, occurring from the Argentine Neuquén Province in the north to the Chilean Magallanes Province in the south. The subgeneric assignment is not clear. Besch (1964) assigned it to the typical subgenus. Cook (1980) placed it in the subgenus Corticacarides , but later Cook (1988) came to a different conclusion, and left it without subgeneric assignment.
