BRAZIL: Mato Grosso State, Alta Floresta; 12 August 2022; J. C. Sullivan. Host: Fufius sp. ( Cyrtaucheniidae ), adult or subadult female. The wasp grasped the wafer trapdoor spider near the end of its left pedipalp with her mandibles, straddled it dorsal side upward, and walked forward, using its wings for added thrust ( Sullivan 2022).
Fufius sp. ( Cyrtaucheniidae View in CoL ) is a new host family, genus, and species for Priochilus regius View in CoL . Previous host records for P.regius View in CoL from Ecuador and Peru include unidentified species of Ctenidae ( Kurczewski et al. 2020) View in CoL , and from Brazil, Ctenus sp. ( Ctenidae View in CoL ) ( Kurczewski et al. 2022b).
