Description. (based on material from Ceará State, Brazil). Living specimens with an orange body and dark red and rounded eyes. Accessory flagellum 8-articulated. Antenna 2 flagellum moderately setose. Coxa 1 anteroventral corner rounded, slightly produced. Gnathopod 2 palmar margin in male with 2 U-shaped excavations defining 2 palmar processes, one subtriangular and the other posteriormost truncated, preceded by wide and deep semielliptical excavation; dactylus with inner margin smooth, medially inflated. Pereopods 3–7 dactyli bifid. Pereopods 5–7 basis ovate. Telson lobes with four elongated setae on each one.
Remarks. This is the first record of Q. cristianae to Ceará State, Brazil, completing the species distribution along Northeastern Brazil Coast. The specimen from Ceará shows antenna 1 accessory flagellum 8-articulated and antenna 2 flagellum less setose than in the original description. Specimens found living in small orifices of sandstone reefs.
Distribution. George Cay, West Indies (Type locality). Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. Bonaire and St. Martin, Lesser Antilles. Margarita Island, Venezuela. Grand Cayman Island, Buddentown. Mujeres Island, Yucatán Channel, Mexico. In Brazil: Paracurú beach, Ceará State; (first record); Suape Port, Pernambuco State; Abrolhos, Bahia State; Atol das Rocas, Rio Grande do Norte State.
