Basionym: Tournefortia brevilobata K.Krause, Bot. Jahrb. Syst. View in CoL 37(5): 630. 1906.

Type:— COLOMBIA. Western slopes of west Andes of Popayán near Poblazón, 2600-3000 m, s. dat., F. C. Lehmann 5996 (lectotype: K000583523 , image!, designated here; isolectotype: F00578395 , image!; FOBN001039 , negative image of B specimen!) .

Distribution.— Ecuador, Colombia.

Notes.— The transcription of data from specimen Lehmann 5996, referred to by Krause (1906: 630) in the protologue, does not correspond to the data contained in the exsiccatae of this series (Lehmann 5996). Despite this, the specimen deposited in the herbarium K with barcode K000583523 is the most complete, with handwriting in the label stating that it is the type. For this reason, the material K00058352 is designated here as the lectotype for Tournefortia lobata .
