Short description. Face whitish-grey pollinose except for non-pollinose shiny black tubercle in male. Mesonotum with dense, short, erect light-yellow and on posterior half shorter sub appressed black pile, on humerus, notopleuron and along posterior margin slightly longer and more brownish-yellow; anterior margin of scutum broadly grey-pollinose with antero-medially a short but broad vitta; pleura more or less entirely grey pollinose except non-pollinose and shiny on antero-ventral corner of anepisternum, on antero-dorsal part of katepisternum and large medial part of meron; scutellum with long whitish pile. Mesofemur with rather long whitish pile, longest ventral pile about 3/4 as long as width of metafemur. Terga II and III medially short appressed black pilose, along lateral margin with long whitish pile; tergum IV on anterior half with erect black pile and on posterior half with appressed longer whitish pile; tergum I entirely and densely grey pollinose; tergum II antero-medially with weak grey-pollinose vitta; sterna rather densely and entirely grey-brown pollinose. Genitalia ( Figs 12 View FIGURE 12 A−B): surstylus almost round, with widely rounded apex and convex ventral and dorsal margin, with some long pile baso-dorsally; hypandrium at apico-dorsal corner with short triangular extension, in ventral view basally rounded with round medio-lateral corners, apical part only slightly narrower; superior lobe with wide triangular extension dorsally, with narrow incision apico-ventrally, apico-dorsal corner rounded and widely extended apico-dorsally. Body length (only male) 10.3–11.9 mm, wing length 7.8–9.5 mm.

Remarks. The description and photos of the holotype give enough evidence that the specimens studied here belong to M. shikokuana .

Distribution. Only known from Japan from the here-studied specimens and furthermore from the provinces Ibaraki, Kanagawa and Tokushima ( Shiraki 1968; Ichige 2016; Ijima 2017).
