Vernacular Names: Yankari Shrew.
Distribution: Sudan savanna zone in Cameroon, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Previously confused with somalica ; see Hutterer and Jenkins (1983). Karyotype (2n = 68, FN = 122) described by Schlitter et al. (1999).
