Diagnosis: Body relatively small in typical forms; pronotum (Figs. 2a–f) with sharp and distinct tubercles but indistinct in some specimens; prozona high, its lobes distinct; lateral tubercles of mesozona distinct; metazona slightly raised; its lateral margins slightly concave, hind margin very narrow and slightly rounded; male tegmina (Figs. 2a, c, e) reaching to hind knee, a little shorter or longer in some specimens, mostly cover the abdominal tergites, genital region seen from above in some specimens; axillary 1 and axillary 2 veins distinct and separated; distal excision of dorsal carina of hind femur very distinct, its ventral carina strongly wavy; inner side of hind femur strongly darkened with black or dark blue, exceptionally with several red spots in apical part; inner side of hind tibia black, dark blue in basal part, apical 1/2–1/4 part red or orange-red; fully pale dark blue or violet in some specimens; male penis valves (Figs. 2g, h) stout apically, their apices strongly curved upwards in lateral view, widened in posterior view; lophi (Figs. 2i) with more than 15 dense spines; posterior margin of epiphallus (Figs. 2i) with a broad projection, posterior ends of lateral plates indistinct in dorsal view.

This subspecies is different from G. holtzi holtzi by the smaller pronotum, raised metazona with concave lateral margins, its narrowed and slightly rounded hind margin, shorter and narrower male tegmina, the hind legs with less red color, smaller body size and the distribution. It is different from G. holtzi turcicus by the pronotumun with distinct tubercles, high prozona and its distinct lobes, shorter and raised metazona, shorter male tegmina and the distribution. From G. holtzi brachypterus by the narrower and raised metazona, longer male tegmina, smaller body size and the distribution.

Distribution: ( Fig. 16). Turkey: S of Ankara, environs of Tuz Gölü, Yozgat, Kırşehir, Nevşehir, Aksaray, N of Niǧde, NE of Konya.

Remarks: Pronotum and its tubercles are variable even in the type locality of this taxon. G. holtzi spinosus Karabaǧ is synonymized here after a large material including the type specimens. In addition, the type localities of both taxa are quite near. The stated differences ( Karabaǧ 1956: 127) are included into the variation limits of G. holtzi pulchripes .

The typical specimens of G. holtzi pulchripes were found from its type locality, NE of Tuz Gölü. Some of the populations, collected from Niǧde, Aksaray, W and N of Karapınar are included to this subspecies. However, some specimens are nearer to the nominotypical subspecies by the larger body size, broader male tegmina, the hind tibia with more red color. But they are included to this subspecies with the other specimens collected in the same place, by the structure of pronotum, shorter tegmina. It is considered that those regions are the contact zones between the both subspecies. Therefore, it is possible to find the individuals which bear the characters of both subspecies in those places.

The specimens recorded by Kuthy (1907) from Tshajan and Fluvius Pursak, as Eremobia Holtzi were reidentified as G. holtzi pulchripes . The records given from Tuz Gölü in Karabaǧ 1949 as Tmethis holtzi and in Karabaǧ 1958 as G. holtzi holtzi ( Karabaǧ 1958: 112) belong to this subspecies.
