Diagnosis: Pronotum ( Figs. 3a–f) with sharp and distinct tubercles; prozona high, its lobes sharp or blunt but distinct; metazona flat, its lateral margins straight, hind margin acute-angular; male tegmina ( Figs. 3a, c, e) long and broad, reaching beyond hind knee; axillary 1 and axillary 2 veins of hind wing distinct and separated; distal excision of dorsal carina of hind femur distinct, its ventral carina clearly wavy; inner side of hind femur dark blue, distal part and ventral side red in some specimens; inner side of hind tibia fully reddish vio- let, violet or basal part blue apical part turns to red as in G. holtzi pulchripes , in any way hind tibia more or less darkened with dirty blue, pale blue, reddish blue or violet in basal part; Male penis valves ( Figs. 3g, h) stout apically, their apices strongly curved upwards in lateral view, widened in posterior view; lophi ( Fig. 3i) with more than 15 dense spines; posterior margin of epiphallus ( Fig. 3i) with a rounded projection.

This subspecies is different from G. holtzi pulchripes by the straight lateral margins of metazona, flat metazona, longer and broader male tegmina, the hind legs with more red color, larger body and distribution. It is different from G. holtzi turcicus by the distinct lobes of prozona and lateral projections of mesozona, shorter and broader metazona, the hind legs with more red color and distribution. From G. holtzi brachypterus narrower and longer metazona, longer male tegmina, the hind legs with more red color and distribution.

Distribution: ( Fig. 16). Turkey: S of Central Anatolia: S of Niǧde, S and E of Karaman and Karapınar.

Remarks: The specimens recorded as Eremobia Holtzi (Kuthy 1907) were not examined. Those specimens must be reidentified.

Bey-Bienko (1951) gave the type locality of G. holtzi extimus as “NE of Ankara, Ovadiikh near Kiangri (Çankırı)”. And Cejchan (1965: 459) gave the label information of the type specimens as “Ovadjyk, Cappadocia”. The label data of 2 examined paratypes is as “Cappadocia, Ovadjyk”. It is known that the collector of those specimens, M. Holtz collected the specimens belong to many different organisms from Taurus Mountains especially environs of Nigde, Bolkar Mountains. The type locality of G. holtzi extimus is undoubtedly the Cappadocia Regin, S of central Anatolia. In spite of this, the locality given by Bey-Bienko (Ovacık in Karabük Province now) was studied detailed several times for this study. No Glyphotmethis specimen was found. On the other hand there is an old village named Ovacık near Nigde Province in the Cappadocia Region and some G. holtzi specimens were collected for the present study.

Cejchan (1965: 459) stated about G. holtzi extimus “It is not impossible that a mere local populations is in questions”. All the examined specimens collected from Cappadocia, Ovadjik including paratypes of extimus are not different from the nominotypical subspecies. Therefore, it is synonymized.

The specimens collected from Konya, Güneysınır and Karaman, Sertavul Geçidi are given under this taxon. But, they have some interstage characters between G. holtzi turcicus and this subspecies. They are near to G. holtzi turcicus in the less pronotal tubercles and longer metazona; to this subspecies in the distinct prozonal lobes and the lateral projections of mesozona.

The specimens collected from Niǧde: Altınhisar, Bor and NE of Karaman are interstage forms between G. holtzi pulchripes and this subspecies. Those regions are placed in the contact zone of the both subspecies (see also G. holtzi pulchripes ).
