Type material: Holotype: female (SD 1590), INDONESIA: West Kalimantan Province: Mount Tibang , Mjöberg leg. ( NHRS).

Additional material examined: 3 juveniles with same data as for holotype ( NHRS) .

Etymology: The species name is derived from the name of the Mount Tibang in Indonesia where the type was collected; term in apposition.

Diagnosis: Females of S. tibang spec. nov. can be distinguished from all other Sinopoda species by the combination of the following characters: 1. copulatory openings situated antero-laterally 2. lobal septum absent 3. spherical posterior part of spermathecae, 4. glandular appendages anteriad and 5. epigynal pockets situated in anterior half of epigyne.

Description: Female (holotype): Total length 11.30; prosoma 4.70 long, 4.10 wide, anterior width of prosoma 2.50; opisthosoma 6.60 long, 4.60 wide. Eye measurements: AME 0.28; ALE 0.38; PME 0.31; PLE 0.38; AME– AME 0.15; AME–ALE 0.07; PME–PME 0.34; PME–PLE 0.33; AME–PME 0.32; ALE–PLE 0.30; clypeus AME 0.51; clypeus ALE 0.48. Leg formula: 2(41)3. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 6.50 (1.70, 1.10, 1.60, 2.10); I: 17.70 (4.90, 2.30, 4.90, 4.10, 1.50); II: 18.80 (5.20, 2.40, 5.30, 4.40, 1.50); III: 16.80 (4.90, 1.90, 4.60, 4.00, 1.40); IV: 17.70 (5.00, 1.90, 4.60, 4.60, 1.60). Spination: palp: 131, 101, 2121, 1014; legs: Fe I–III 323, IV 331; Pa I–IV 001; Ti I–IV 2026; Mt I–II 1014, III 2016, IV 3036. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.

Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma brown, medially with yellow longitudinal stripe, posterior and lateral part yellow with brown spots. Sternum yellowish-brown with brown margin. Opisthosoma dorsal and ventral part yellow with light brown spots. Chelicerae reddish-brown. Palps yellow; Mt proximal and distal reddish-brown. Legs yellow; Fe dorsally and laterally with brown spots, ventrally with light brown spots, Pa with light brown spots, Ti I with light brown spots, Ti II-IV with brown spots, Mt with reddish-brown spots.

Copulatory organ as in diagnosis. Epigynal field wider than long without anterior bands and slit sensilla. Copulatory opening situated at anterior part. Lateral lobes fused. Epigynal pockets running from latero-anterior to medioanterior. Large fusion bubbles arranged medially at a longitudinal line on epigyne. Internal duct system wider than long, anterior part wide, posterior part narrower than anterior part. Anterior part of glandular appendages spherical. Fertilization ducts long and slightly curved, arising posteriorly.

Male: Unknown.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
