Type material: Holotype: female (SD 1648), THAILAND: Chiang Mai Province: Doi Inthanon , 1600 m, 17 December 1986, collection number S28039 View Materials ( QM).
Etymology: The species name is a compound word and derived from the Latin word “uni” meaning “single/ unique” and the Latin word “color”, referring to the homogeneous colouration of the species; adjective.
Diagnosis: Females of S. unicolor spec. nov. are similar to those of S. anguina and S. phom spec. nov. ( Figs. 34 View FIGURES 34 d–e) in having a wide lobal septum with deep median indentation anteriorly but can be distinguished from S. anguina by 1. bigger body size reaching 24.40 (12.20 in S. anguina ), 2. prosoma and opisthosoma reddish-brown and opisthosoma with light reddish-brown trapezoid spot ventrally (prosoma yellow with brown stripe pattern and opisthosoma brown with yellow dots and without trapezoid spot ventrally in S. anguina ), 3. spermathecae with anterior part nearly as wide as posterior part (anterior part narrower than posterior part in S. anguina ) and 4. glandular appendages curved and wider than proximal part of spermathecae (straight and narrower than proximal part of spermathecae in S. anguina ); from S. phom spec. nov. by 1. bigger body size reaching 24.40 (13.00 in S. phom spec. nov.), 2. prosoma and opisthosoma reddish-brown (prosoma yellowish-brown and opisthosoma yellowish-white in S. phom spec. nov.), 3. lobal septum with anterior indentation deeper and anterior part narrower than median part (anterior part wider than median part in S. phom spec. nov.), 4. spermathecae partly fused and posterior part bulging latero-posteriorly (spermathecae completely fused along median line and posterior part more or less straight in S. phom spec. nov.) and 5. fertilization ducts wide and curved (long and slender in S. phom spec. nov.).
Description: Female (holotype): Total length 24.40; prosoma 10.80 long, 9.30 wide, anterior width of prosoma 5.50; opisthosoma 13.60 long, 8.60 wide. Eye measurements: AME 0.42; ALE 0.64; PME 0.50; PLE 0.65; AME–AME 0.35; AME–ALE 0.14; PME–PME 0.56; PME–PLE 0.71; AME–PME 0.55; ALE–PLE 0.63; clypeus AME 1.02; clypeus ALE 0.86. Leg formula: 2413. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 15.40 (4.70, 2.40, 3.20, 5.10); I: 41.00 (10.80, 5.20, 11.50, 10.40, 3.10); II: 45.30 (12.50, 5.60, 12.80, 11.10, 3.30); III: 38.80 (11.10, 4.90, 10.50, 9.30, 3.00); IV: 41.60 (11.60, 4.60, 11.20, 11.00, 3.20). Spination: palp: 131, 101, 2121, 1014; legs: Fe I 624/323, II–III 323, IV 321; Pa I–III 001, IV 000; Ti I 3036/2026, II–IV 2026; Mt I–II 1014, III 2014, IV 3036. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.
Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma reddish-brown, posteriorly with brown transversal stripe, antero-laterally dark brown. Sternum reddish-brown, laterally brown. Opisthosoma reddish-brown, anteriorly with yellow spots, ventrally with median yellow band, laterally reddish-brown. Chelicerae reddish-brown. Palps and legs reddish-brown. Setae on legs and palps shimmering golden.
Copulatory organ as in diagnosis. [Right distal part of glandular appendage and fertilization duct broken off]. Epigynal field wider than long with two long discontinuous bands and two slit sensilla. Epigynal pockets running from latero-posterior to medio-anterior. Lateral lobes fused with wide median indentation posteriorly. Internal duct system wider than long. Glandular appendages extending only in anterior half of internal duct system, proximal part wider than distal part. Fertilization ducts arising postero-laterally.
Male: Unknown.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
