Figs 39 View FIGURES 39 a–e, 63 c–f
Type material: Holotype: male ( PJ 911 ), CHINA: Shaanxi Province: Taibaishan , 1550–1600 m, sieving, 09 June 1997, P. Jäger & M. Martens leg. ( SMF).
Paratypes: 2 females ( PJ 908 , PJ 912 ) with same data as for holotype ( SMF) .
Additional material examined (1 male, 1 female, 17 juveniles): 15 juveniles (SD 1583) with same data as for holotype ( SMF) . 1 male ( PJ 915 ) , 1 juvenile with same data as for holotype, except: 1600 m, 21–29 June 1997 ( SMF) . 1 female ( PJ 909 ) with same data as for holotype except: 1250–1550 m, by hand, 21 June 1997 ( SMF) .
Etymology: The species name is derived from the Latin word “silvicola“ meaning “living in the forest” and refers to the habitat in which the specimens were found; adjective.
Diagnosis: Males of S. silvicola spec. nov. are similar to those of S. campanacea Wang, 1990 in having a wide embolic apophysis and a wide vRTA. They can be distinguished from the latter species by 1. embolus with proximal part as wide as distal part (proximal part wider than distal part in S. campanacea ), 2. tegulum with median part narrower than posterior part (median part wider than posterior part in S. campanacea ), 3. spermophore situated more retrolaterally (situated medially in S. campanacea ), and 4. vRTA with tip tapering and dRTA bent disto-dorsally in retrolateral view (tip of vRTA rounded and dRTA bent ventro-distally in retrolateral view).
Females of S. silvicola spec. nov. can be distinguished from all other Sinopoda species by the combination of the following characters: 1. anterior part of lobal septum wider than median part, 2. epigynal pockets only extending in posterior half of epigyne, 3. spermathecae not fused at median line, 4. posterior part of spermathecae curved.

Palp as in diagnosis. Embolus curved and longer than embolic apophysis. Embolic apophysis curved and tapering, in prolateral view tip strongly pointed. Conductor long and curved, arising from 12-o’clock-position. Spermophore slightly curved in ventral view. Tegulum covering embolus base. RTA arising medially from tibia. vRTA shorter than dRTA, wide. dRTA long, in ventral view proximal part wide and tip tapering.
