Description. Length (including tegmen). Male: 5.9 mm.

Colour and external features as in generic description, forewing with brownish streak in each cell. Fore tibia with dorsal macrosetae arrangement of rows AD and PD 2+4.

Male abdominal apodemes as in figures 2Q–S. 2 nd acrotergite with trunk horizontal; neck slender. 1 st sternal apodeme with posterior lobes convergent distally. 2 nd sternal apodeme with posterior lobes reduced.

Male genitalia. Style with apophysis narrowly foot-shaped, preapical lobe distinct. Aedeagus robust, shaft evenly curved dorsally, cylindrical basally, laterally compressed distally and very broad distally in lateral view; elongate ventral process from socle similar in length to shaft, twisted to one side and tapered to acute apex.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Papua New Guinea, Morobe Province, Wau, Wau Ecological Institute, 12–14.vii.1983, S.E. & P.M. Miller, 1200m, Montane Forest ( USNM).

Etymology. The specific epithet “ robustipenis ” refers to the robust aedeagus.

Remarks. This species differs from P. ficus by the characters indicated in the key.
