Holotype male with labels: (1) printed on yellow label: “Mokanshan / April 17 1937 ”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ Pegomya / mokanensis / sp.nov. / Identifier: Zide Fan 1976.XII ”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Pegomya / japonica / mokanensis Fan”.
Preservation: pinned. Missing parts: right mid leg.
Current name: A junior synonym of Pegomya japonica Suwa, 1974 .
