Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white label: “Yinchuan 87.9.6 hatch / leaf of Lycium chinensis / 8727”; (2) handwritten on red label: “ Pegomya lycii / Holotype ”.

Preservation: mounted on paper triangle; Missing part: genitalia.

Paratype male with the label: (1) as in the holotype above, differing in the first line “87.9.4”.

Preservation: mounted on paper triangle; Missing part: abdomen.

Paratypes: 2 females with the label: (1) as in the holotype above, differing in the first line “87.9.5”.

Preservation: One paratype mounted on paper triangle; specimen intact; the other one mounted on paper triangle; wings slightly damaged.

Current name: Pegomya lycii Fan & Gao, 1989 .
