TYPE LOCALITY: Zaire, Ituri Forest between Mawambi and Avakubi .

DISTRIBUTION: Nigeria to Kenya and Uganda.

COMMENT: Considered distinct from alleni ; see Bishop, 1979, Mammalia, 43:527, and Robbins et al., 1980, Ann. Carnegie Mus ., 49(2):31-48, but also see Misonne, 1974, Part 6:28. See also comment under H. alleni .
