Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the forewings with basal 4/5 yellowish brown and distal 1/5 black; the right brachium of the socius slightly produced outward medially, and the long spine-shaped dorsal process of the right brachium in the male genitalia; and the annular sterigma in the female genitalia.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4‒11 ). Wingspan 10.0– 12.5 mm.
Head. Vertex and frons white, vertex mixed with yellowish-brown scales. Antennae pale yellow, scape white terminally, flagellum alternated with brown dorsally. Labial palpi white; second palpomere mixed with yellowish brown dorsally, with a longitudinal yellowish-brown line ventrally; third palpomere yellowish brown at basal 2/5 and near apex.
Thorax. Dorsum of mesothorax and tegulae yellow, with diffused white and brown scales. Forewings yellowish brown with black scales in basal 4/5, black in distal 1/5; ill-defined large black speckle at middle of fold, small black spot near end of fold; tiny black spot near outer margin of discal cell, surrounded by white scales; cream fascia extending from 1/2 of costal margin to dorsum; white streak from before distal 1/5 of costal margin obliquely outward to termen; white streak from outside of preceding white streak extending along termen to apical angle; fringes yellowish brown, mixed with black along distal 1/5. Hindwings and fringes brown. Foreleg with coxa white mixed with brown scales, femur and tibia yellowish brown, tarsus yellow; midleg with femur yellowish brown, tibia with whorls of bristles pale yellow basally, black distally, tarsus yellow, first and fourth tarsomeres white at apex; hindleg with femur yellowish brown, tibia with white-tipped whorls of bristles pale yellow basally, black mottled with pink distally, tarsus yellowish brown, 4–5 tarsomeres mixed with pink scales.
Male abdomen and genitalia ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 16‒19 ):
Male abdomen. Pleural lobes of eighth segment 3/5 length of valva.
Male genitalia. Socius with right brachium equally wide from near base to before middle, obtusely produced outward medially, slightly narrower distally, pointed at apex; dorsal process arising from beyond middle, long spine shaped, 1/3 length of right brachium. Left brachium 1/2 length of right brachium, narrowed to rounded apex, bent outward near apex. Valvae rod shaped, slightly narrowed at middle, distal 1/3 expanded elliptically, obliquely outward, with dense setae in distal half ventrally. Left valvella broadened distally, rounded at apex, 5/6 length of phallus; right valvella short, digitate, 1/7 length of phallus. Phallus straight, narrowed distally.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 24–27 ). Apophyses posteriores twice as long as apophyses anteriores. Sterigma annular. Ductus bursae as long as apophyses posteriores, membranous. Corpus bursae ovoid, shorter than ductus bursae; entrance at posterior 1/4 of corpus bursae; signum absent.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Etymology. The specific epithet of the new species is derived from the Latin longispinus, referring to the long spine-shaped dorsal process on the right brachium of the socius.
