Body brown (Fig. 108), pronotum brown with reddish margins, abdominal tergites slightly or markedly copper iridescent; antennae reddish brown with base of first segment and segments 8–11 reddish yellow or light reddish brown; legs and maxillary palpi reddish brown, tarsi reddish yellow.  FIGURES 108–116.  Acylophorus minutusJarrige.108, 109, 112–114, paratype; 110, 111, 115, Andasibe; 116, Betroka. 108, habitus; 109, head and pronotum; 110, mandibles; 111, maxillary palpus; 112, aedeagus lateral; 113, aedeagus ventro-lateral; 114–116, aedeagus ventral. 112–116, same scale bars. Head suboval (Fig. 109), wider than long (L/W=0.95–0.99, M=0.97, PT=0.98), widened behind eyes, with two pairs of interocular setae. Temples about as long as eyes (LT/LE=0.95–1.18, M=1.03, PT=0.95). Dorsal side of head shining, only with very scattered and fine micropunctures. Only sparse pale grey pubescence behind eyes. Four postocular setae visible on each side, additional seta on hind margin of eye absent. Pigmented area before antennal insertion absent. Mandibles each with one large tooth (Fig. 110). Maxillary palpi with terminal segment very wide and long, pubescent, asymmetric, slightly wider and markedly longer than glabrous penultimate segment which is triangular (Fig. 111). First segment of antenna slightly longer than next four; segments 1 to 4 elongate, segment 5 mostly wider and longer than segment 4, about as long as wide (R=0.96–1.16, M=1.05, PT=0.98), segments 6–9 transverse, segment 10 transverse (R=0.64–0.82, M=0.73, PT=0.74), slighty wider and longer than segment 9. Pronotum markedly transverse (W/L=1.14–1.22, M=1.18, PT=1.20), markedly widened behind with sides moderately rounded, widest in basal half (Fig. 109); shining, only with scattered very fine micropunctures. One pair of dorsal setae and one pair of lateral setae. Marginal setae short. Elytra markedly transverse (W/L=1.24–1.47, M=1.36, PT=1.36) with short, pale, but not shining pubescence arising from dense aspirate punctures. Apical fringe of bristles slightly longer than pubescence on other parts of the elytra. Abdominal tergites with short, moderately dense pubescence, arising from aspirate punctures coarser and slightly sparser than on elytra. Meso- and metatarsi with short empodial setae, shorter than claws (similar as in Figs. 87, 88). Male (n=5). Sternite 9 quite long and moderately wide ( Fig. 120), apex of tergite 10 rounded, with very long setae ( Fig. 119). Aedeagus (Figs. 112–118) 0.68–0.82 mmlong (M= 0.76 mm, HT= 0.68 mm). Parameres bilobed, lobes narrowly separated, sensory pegs arranged in apical third to fourth ( Figs. 118). Paramere slightly overreaching median lobe, apex of median lobe rounded (Figs. 114–116, 118). Female. Posterior margin of tergite 10 with one central and two apicolateral emarginations ( Fig. 121), valves as in Fig. 122.   Differential diagnosis.  Acylophorus minutusdiffers from most species of the  Acylophorus salifigroup by the very long and slender paramere overreaching the median lobe of the aedeagus. This character is shared only with Acylophrus acufer Lott, 2012, but this species differs from  A. minutusby the paramere only slightly overreaching the median lobe and by the slender last two segments of maxillary palpi.   Distribution. East and South-east Madagascar( Fig. 176).  Bionomics. Specimens were collected by treading the shores of a lake ( Fig. 168), on stream banks and in flight intercept trap (FIT) in forests. 1913892120 [151,800,1225,1250] Madagascar -18.933332 Perinet 1273 48.416668 24 175 1 holotype 1913892121 2004-02-25 JJRC J.
