Remarks. André (1985)redefined the genus and synonymized Metatriophtydeus( André 1980)with Triophtydeus. The genus is characterized by having three eyes (not always visible), opisthosoma with eight pairs of setae and four or three pairs of slit-like pores, epimeral formula in adults (coxal plus ventral setae): 3-1-3-3; leg setal counts (with solenidia in parentheses): Leg I: 10 (1ω)-5-3-5-1; Leg II: 6(1ω)-2-2-4-1; Leg III: 5-1-2-1-1; Leg IV: 5-2-2-1+2-0.
