Hetherefore made a new combination for it as  P. vallatoria(Pluk. ex L.) Veldk. However, it seems clear that Linnaeus was merely citing " A. vallatoria, Pluk., Mant.28" as a synonym of Rumphius'plant, the binomial form of Plukenet'sname being merely a coincidence. Apart from the reprint of the thesis ( Amoen. Acad.4: 115. 1759), Linnaeus never used the name again, and it is in any case invalid (see Art. 34.1, Ex. 2).
