Remarks: the distribution range provided by Ramírez & Zamponi (1981) is not based on specific records and, therefore, we did not consider that information for this species. Distribution in SouthAmerica: medusa—Pacific Ocean, Colombiato Chile, from 5.50°Nto 4.80°N, from 3.50°Sto 34.28°S, and at southwest of GalápagosArchipelago (Kramp 1968; Fagetti 1973 p. 46; Segura-Puertas 1984; Cely & Chiquillo 1993; Chirichigno, pers. comm.); Atlantic Ocean, Brazilto Argentina, no specific record in the Brazilian waters, at 38.74°S 49.31°W, at 52.97°S 48.34°W(Kramp 1957, 1959a; Migotto et al.2002; Genzano et al.2008a). Habitat: medusa—central and southern parts of the Atlantic Ocean, from 400 to 1600mdepth (Kramp 1957, 1959a).
