Remarks– The specimens represented here are closely allied in morphology to those figured by LOZOUET & RENARD (1998)from the Early Miocene of France. The other two Coralliophilaspeciesdescribed by HOERNES & AUINGER (1885) at Lăpugiu de Sus: C. alternata(Bellardi)and C. hochstetteri(Hoernes et Auinger)are distinguishable by rounded spire whorls. C. burdigalensisdiffers from C. gracilispiraBoettgerby lower spire and broader last whorl. The specimen figured on Figs 75–76represents a juvenile shell.
