MagwengaMORLEY, 1919: 166. Typespecies: Magwenga maculipennisMORLEY, 1919 (London).
Ctenocalus HEINRICH, 1933: 162; MagwengaMORLEY, 1919 as synonym. This is a strictly Afrotropical genus with only 3 species described so far, occurring in Eastern ( Tanzania, Uganda) and Southern Africa ( South Africa). Ctenocaluscan be easily differentiated from the other two genera of the tribe Ctenocalinioccurring in the Afrotropical area ( MagwengiellaHEINRICH and SeyrigiellaHEINRICH) by the following characteristics: propodeum without or with incomplete carination; all claws of ♀pectinate, and notauli obsolete, present only at the base ( HEINRICH 1967-1968: 378).
