The species name is used as a noun in apposition and applies to the pointed finger­like shape of the male gonocoxite, lateral view (Fig. 394).  Diagnosis   Lysilinga digitais taxonomically associated with  L. chamelain lacking setae on the katepisternum; in having the abdomen dark reddish brown; the halter knob dark brown; the dorsocentral macrosetae absent; the hypoproct quadrate ( Fig. 364); the male frons lacking setae; and the anterior half of ejaculatory apodeme broadly expanded laterally and flattened dorsoventrally in cross­section (Fig. 414).  Lysilinga digitadiffers from  L. chamelain having the gonocoxite in lateral view (Fig. 394) with an apical, digitate projection and the apex of the distiphallus (Fig. 414) expanded laterally.  Description of holotypemale (MEI 039772) Body length 7.5 mm.  Head.Length 0.85 mm. Ommatidia of homogeneous size. Frons silver; setae absent. Antenna/head length 0.73; dark brown, basal half of first flagellomere pale brown, pruinescence on scape and pedicel gray; scape length 0.18 mm, width 0.10 mm, length/ width 1.8, scape/pedicel length 2.3, scape/flagellum width 0.71, setae dark reddish brown, short; pedicel length 0.08 mm, length/width 0.7; first flagellomere oval, attenuate apically, flagellum length 0.36 mm, 0.14 mmwide, length/width 2.6, flagellum/scape length 2.0. Parafacial pruinescence silver. Maxillary palpus yellow; length 0.36 mm, length/width 6.0; setae white. Genal setae white. Occipital setae white, elongate becoming pale gold, lanceolate along dorsal margin. Postocular macrosetae dark reddish brown.  Thorax.Macrosetae dark reddish brown, 3 np, 2 sa, 1 pa, 0 dc, 2 sc. Mesonotum black, pruinescence brownish gray; setae black, elongate intermixed with whitish gold, iridescent, lanceolate, appressed setae. Pleuron pruinescence gray; setae white on propleuron, anepisternum, laterotergite, metanepisternum, and scutellum, absent on katepisternum. Wing.Membrane pale brown; veins brown; length 6.2 mm, length/width 3.1; pterostigma dark brown; cell m 3widely opened. Halter dark brown. Legs.Coxal macrosetae dark reddish brown. Forefemur dark yellowish brown, dark reddish brown dorsally and basally, midfemur dark yellow, hindfemur dark yellowish brown to pale reddish brown; ventral setae white on fore­ and midfemora intermixed with black setae apicoventrally; av 1:0:4, pv 0:0:6. Tibiae dark yellow, dark reddish brown apically. Tarsomeres 1–2 dark yellow; 3–5 dark reddish brown.  Abdomen.Dark reddish brown, pruinescence white; dorsal and lateral setae white.  Terminalia(MEI 030779) dark yellowish brown. Tergite 8 and epandrium ( Fig. 364), setae reddish brown. Hypoproct ( Fig. 364) quadrate, posterior margin truncate, ending distal to apex of cercus. Gonocoxite ventral view (Fig. 374), basal half quadrate rounded laterally, median margin straight then bent at right angle before tapering apically to attenuate apex, setae dark yellowish brown; dorsal view ( Fig. 384) gonocoxal bridge short; lateral view (Fig. 394) quadrate, tapering apically to narrow finger­like projection; ventral lobe (Fig. 374) with ventral spines. Gonostylus ( Fig. 404), basodorsal lobe rounded; ventral margin sinuate, setae dark yellow; fine, short spines absent laterally. Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme (Fig. 414) broad, quadrate, posterolateral margin slightly expanded; ventral apodeme ( Fig. 424) tapered anteriorly, extending beyond anterior margin of dorsal apodeme; distiphallus dorsal view (Fig. 414) short, expanded apicolaterally, lateral view (Fig. 434) broad basally, apical half directed ventrally then curved apically, subapical hood elongate; ejaculatory apodeme (Fig. 414), anterior half quadrate, greatly expanded laterally, extending beyond anterior margin of dorsal apodeme, anterior margin truncate, in cross­section flattened dorsoventrally. Variation (n=3). Body length 7.4–7.6, 7.5 mm. Thorax.
