The original description is poor for modern standards, and both description and figure are based on a female. The females of the different  Sadocusspecies are very similar and difficult to identify unequivocally. According to the original description,  S. nigronotatusresembles  S. polyacanthusin the presence of a spiniform apophysis on the lateral margin of the dorsal scutum, but can be distinguished by the presence of scutal area IV.
