<spm:hasContent> Remarks: This species is variable. All specimens from northern Zimbabwe have cell r 5widely open, whereas this cell is closed in the material from Botswana. The very long maxillary palpi are a good character for identification of the species. There are certain similarities to Oratostylum, for example the elongated palpi and the well pronounced facial swelling, but we treat longipalpusas a species of Remotomyia because of the strong macrosetae on the pronotum and postpronotal lobes, and the strong anteriorly directed setae on T 6-7 infemales.</spm:hasContent>
