Differs from  Poeciliptain the very large AME ( Figs 3f, 63a, as in  Medmassa), the straight embolus ( Fig. 63e) in males, lobular paracymbial spine ( Fig. 64b, e), dorsal scute partial but no ventral scute in males, the highly folded spermathecae ( Fig. 63d) of females, and the absence of post-epigastric sclerites in males and females.    Typespecies.  Methesis bimaculata Simon, 1896.   Etymology. An anagram of  Poecilipta, which it closely resembles; the gender is feminine.
