Type:— MEXICO. “Berge, Blühte in Herrenhausen” (Holotype [according to Luer 2004: 24] presumably at B†; because this specimen was destroyed during World War II, it is necessary to designate here as lectotype the Tabula 296. Notes:—This name has been considered a synonym of A. chrysantha ( Williams, 1951; McVaugh 1985, Luer 2004) but differs based on stouter and fleshier plants, thicker and more winged stems, and more lanceolate leaves. Acianthera chrysantha also grows in drier forests than A. hartwegiifolia (Soto in Hágsater & Soto 2003: 503).
