Etymology. From the Latin armillatus meaning furnished with a necklace and referring to the microtrichae on the elytral cells.
Diagnosis. The form of the elytral cells with dense microtrichae giving a pruinose appearance will quickly distinguish this species from all others except segmenta , which is larger and possesses short elytral epipleura making the elytra broader at the shoulders rather than the middle. (Note: other species with pruinose elytra occur in several S. American countries).

Amboro NP, Siberia Pass env., 2481m, 28.xi, S. 17°50'25" E.64°41'58", sifting litter, Winkler app. extr., P.Baňař lgt. ( UASC). Paratype: ♀, GPS32, BOL / Nov 2013/09, Bolivia 2013, Santa Cruz dep., W. Amboro NP, Siberia Pass env., 2450m, 28.xi, S. 17°50'12" E.64°42'08", sifting litter, Winkler app. extr., P.Baňař lgt. ( UASC / MMBC).
