Holotype MALAYSIA-BORNEO • ♂; Sarawak, 4 th Division , Gunung Mulu National Park; 100–500 m a.s.l.; I. Hanski leg., BM 1978-524 ; pitfall trap fish bait, MD forest; BMNH.

Paratypes

MALAYSIA-BORNEO • 4 specs; same data as for holotype; BMNH 4 specs; Sarawak, 4 th division, Gunung Mulu National Park ; 100-500 m a.s.l.; Mar.–May 1978; I. Hanski leg., BM 1978-524 ; pitfall trap fish bait MD forest; BMNH 1 ♀ (mounted disarticulated on the slide); same data as for preceding; 500–800 m a.s.l.; forest slope 17-21; BMNH .

Note

Many further examples of this species by association from these and other locations returned to alcohol.

Description

SIZE. Habitus ( Fig. 21A View Fig ), length 0.68 mm.

COLOUR. Dark yellowish brown, head darker, antennae and legs yellow, covered with yellow overlapping pubescence.

HEAD. Distance across eyes 0.28 mm; antennomeres III–XI, length 0.30 mm; mentum anterior margin concave, corners obtuse, anterior margin shorter than posterior ( Fig. 21F View Fig ).

PRONOTUM. Length 0.22 mm, width 0.44 mm, sides strongly rounded in posterior half, angles right angled (viewed from 45°), posterior margin strongly sinuate.

ELYTRA. Length 0.42 mm, width 0.44 mm, with narrow epipleura in anterior half. VENTRUM. Mesoventrum reticulate, without pubescence, keel obliterated before collar, tapering posteriorly to a fine point between the mesocoxae ( Fig. 21G View Fig ). Metaventrum reticulate, pubescent, posterior margin between metacoxae narrow with two right angled points at corners, ± 1⁄6 the width of the sclerite.

ABDOMEN. Pygidium with three pairs of longer setae on lateral margins and a pointed apex, anterior border with setae.

FEMALE GENITALIA. Spermatheca ( Fig. 21E, H View Fig ).

MALE GENITALIA. Aedeagus ( Fig. 21D View Fig ).
